Jason was born into two families with long Starfleet histories. Literally every member of his immediate family minus his maternal grandmother and older sister, are either current or retired members of Starfleet. One of his grandfathers was a Master Chief, the other a Rear Admiral. His mother's family has had members in Starfleet since its inception. He and his sister grew up moving between starships and starbases. So when it came time to pick a career no one was surprised that Jason applied for Starfleet Academy. Jason immediately excelled in history, literature, and even took a few classes in journalism before finally settling on security as his main area of study. Jason did well enough in science classes, however his math skills proved to be barely enough to graduate.
Jason did run into some trouble in the Academy. The first time he found himself nearly expelled for starting a brawl with a visiting dignitary. Jason was spared expulsion when the dignitary intervened on his behalf, despite the fact that Jason had broken his nose. As agreed by both parties, the exact details of what happened where never mention in the reports of the incident, however Jason would later tell the story to his friend Charghwl who was locked away in the brig. A reprimand was added to his permanent record and Jason was made to see a counselor for anger management for the remainder of his time at the Academy. Jason also found himself in minor trouble a couple of times for practical jokes and other minor incidents.
During his fourth and final year at the Academy, while most of his classmates were serving aboard starships Jason was granted permission from the Academy Commandant to attend Starfleet's Advanced Tactical Training School. Jason spent the better part of the year attending the school and gaining advanced skills in weapons training, infiltration, hand to hand combat and a significant amount of time learning the skills of a sniper.
A few months before graduation, and after he had finished his time at ATT, Jason took a security position aboard Jupiter Station. Due to the lack of any real security threats during this time, Jason managed to turn what had been a hobby of working on computers into a Computer Expert classification. Thanks mostly to this and his time at ATT, Jason was able to make up for his poor math and science skills and graduate in the middle of his class. This also qualified him for Starship duty.
On Stardate 920429 Jason graduated from the Academy right in the middle of his class and his entire family was there to witness the graduation. He immediately applied for the first posting he could get as a security officer and was accepted to the USS Eclipse. After a successful tour as a Security Officer, Jason was awarded a promotion to Lt. JG and soon after was made the Eclipse's Operations Manager.
CLASSIFIED: On Stardate 920917 Jason along with the entire crew of the USS Eclipse are declared lost after a brief battle with Xelucian forces near the Vergan Nebula. In reality the Eclipse and her crew are alive and well on a classified mission into the nebula.
CLASSIFIED: On Stardate 921216 the Eclipse engaged an Xelucian scout-class starship in a brief battle. Near the end of the battle a large piece of shrapnel was embedded in Jason's left shoulder. The results of the injury required the arm to be amputated above the shoulder.
CLASSIFIED: On Stardate 921223 the Eclipse leaves the Vergan Nebula and comes into contact with the USS Tempest on patrol in the area. Jason and the rest of the crew are able to get the medical attention they require and are returned to the world of the living.
On Stardate 921224 Jason receives a mechanical prosthesis to replace his left arm and shoulder aboard the USS Tempest. The procedure is overseen by Doctor Anita Briam of the Tempest.
On Stardate 930114 Jason, along with the senior staff of the USS Eclipse, is transferred to the USS Aldebaran as the Operations Manager. The USS Eclipse, badly damaged in the battle of the Vergan Nebula, is taken off for extensive repairs.
Lieutenant Jason Bly (Circa 2393)
USS Aldebaran NCC-26743
On Stardate 930306 Jason and an away team are attacked by a group of scientists on Cartaris station. Jason is given three cracked ribs for his trouble.
On Stardate 930422 Jason fires on and destroys a group of shuttles who might have possibly been carrying a deadly spore. Jason only fires on them after the Aldebaran's Chief of Security Charghwl refuses to and is stunned by the Captain.
On Stardate 930616 Jason receives a message from his grandfather that had been lost in the system for two months. The message says that a colony ran by a friend of his grandfather's is being attacked routinely by raiders and the Federation had been unable to help due to the war. Jason takes this message to Captain Draper who at first is unwilling to let Jason go investigate. It is not until Lieutenant Commander Kafelnikov agrees to join Jason that the Captain relents and sanctions the mission.
On Stardate 930620 Jason and Kafelnikov arrive at the Vedrii XI colony and are surprised to find Rear Admiral(ret) Nathaniel Frost, Jason's Grandfather, among the colonist. Soon after they arrive however, Nelic Trelvain and his enforcer Sel-van arrive at the colony. The shuttle Alcyone is destroyed after a brief firefight and four hundred colonists are taken hostage.
On Stardate 930623 takes part in the 'Phaserfight at the Vedrii VI Corral' where he and Kafelnikov storm the colony's meeting hall with six armed colonists and rescue the hostages. Four colonist and several pirates are injured in the fighting, however Sel-van takes eight of the hostages with him as he escapes and Kaf and Jason are forced to run after him in a runabout that Nathan Frost 'acquires' from the pirates.
On Stardate 930626 they arrive in the Tu'Pah system to investigate a mining facility on a small moon they believe the pirates are using as a base. They are attacked by an antique Klingon cruiser the pirates are using and the runabout is badly damaged. Jason and Kaf beam to safety however, Nathan is unable to beam away. Just before his runabout crashes into the surface of a moon he manages to steer it clear of the mining complex and fire the last torpedo from its launch tubes, destroying the cruiser.
On Stardate 920628 Jason and Yevgeny kill the creature known as Brin when Kaf uses Jason's spare Type-I phaser set to overload. They are both injured in the explosion, Kaf more so than Jason. They later find a hostage named Mark that
promises to lead them to Sel-van, saying that Trelvain has been removed as leader. They run into trouble on the way and Kaf and Mark run off to find Sel-van as Jason holds off the pirates.
When Kaf finds Sel-van, it is revealed that Mark is really Trelvain, and after Sel-van shoots him dead he threatens a young female hostage. Kaf fires on Sel-van anyway, nearly missing him but leaving a long burn on his head. Sel-van responds by shooting Kaf in the hip and the eye. Seconds later Jason comes tackles Sel-van to the floor and there is a brief struggle. Sel-van, being a Romulan-Vulcan hybrid, is stronger than Jason and soon over takes him.
Jason is shot once in the left shoulder by Sel-van who then turns his disruptor to the little girl. Jason tries to stop him but is shot three times in the chest. Moments later, security personal from the Aldebaran arrive and drive Sel-van off. Jason and Kaf are beamed directly to sick bay were Jason, having been dead for almost a minute and a half, is resuscitated and given immediate emergency surgery for the placement of a new artificial heart and lungs. Sel-van manages to escape. He is later implicated in the brutal murder of several Orion underworld authority figures.
CLASSIFIED: On Stardate 930707 Jason is order to report to Annapolis Station for a temporary assignment with Starfleet Intelligence. Once there he finds that his friend and shipmate Yeggeny Kafelnikov is running a Black Ops mission to a Xeleucian POW camp to rescue one Command Killpatrick, a vital intelligence operative who is carrying time sensitive information about the Xeleucian war machine. The team infiltrates the camp and after a running firefight manages to save Commander Killpatrick. However, many POWs are killed as they attempt to escape in shuttles during the operation.
On Stardate 930919 Jason transfers to the Galaxy-class USS Vimy Ridge along with shipmate John Whitney. This is the first time Jason serves on a starship not under the Command of Captain Lee Draper.
On Stardate 940306 Jason, barely into his tour aboard the USS Vimmy Ridge, is suddenly given orders to report to Earth and transferred from starhsip duty to Starfleet Intelligence's Clandestine Operations.

On Stardate 971210 Jason is promoted to full Commander by Rear Admiral K`lana Vilqa, Commanding Officer of the 14th Fleet.
Cicero is an all white cat that Jason found as a kitten during his time working with Starfleet Intelligence. The barely old enough to be on his own kitten was standing up to a pack of wild dogs trying to steal his meal when Jason, impressed by his courage, saved him. Jason has called it the 'worst decision of my life' as Cicero would pay back his act of kindness by spending every moment tormenting his savior. The two seem to tolerate one another if for no other reason than it is easier than the alternative.
Jason tends to be more reserved and introverted. Known for keeping a cool head in even the most stressful of situations, some who work with him have joked about the warp core coolant running through his veins.
In less stressful times Jason tends to be relaxed, easy going and something of a smart aleck, quick with a friendly joke at someone else's expense. Although in fairness, he can take a joke as well as he dished them out.
He can be a bit over cautious almost to the point of paranoia, he known for keeping a tricorder and Type-II phaser on his person at all times, as well as a Type-I phaser in his right sock. However, after a few years in the fleet he eventually stopped carrying them all the time. Although he still carries a Type-I in his sock on certain away missions.
Jason's Prosthesis Specifications
Starfleet Synthetic Tissue Prosthesis; Mk IV
Maximum Lift Weight: 150(Pounds)/68(Kilograms)
Estimated Lifecycle: Lifespan of the Patient
Power Source: Energy harvested from natural body movement(for normal operations)
Description: The Synthetic Tissue Prosthesis, or simply STP, is a wonder of modern medical science. Using the latest advancements in bio-mechanical study, the patient's DNA is sequenced and used to replicate the synthetic tissues that will make up the STP. Placed on a a carbon-fiber frame created to act as skeletal support, the synthetic tissue is used to simulate the lost muscles, flesh and nervous system. This gives the patient full use of the prosthesis, allowing for full joint articulation, inherent strength and physical sensation. This means the any patient successfully integrated with their STP can return to active duty with no loss in, and in some cases increased, physical abilities. The physical attributes of the STP will not give the patient any physical capabilities beyond those normally associated with their respective species.
